[Moto Gymkhana National Championship Round 2 – Kempton Park]
Kempton Park Racecourse saw Round 2 of the Moto Gymkhana competition season take place on Sunday, 26th May.
33 competitors took part with the usual array of machines. The course was fast flowing and included some new obstacles – Japanese Knot, Up & Down, Two Hearts and Cross Roads to name but a few.
Victory was taken by Neil Wallis-Tennant with a time of 1:43. Rob Fox made his debut on the podium in second place with a time of 1:48 and Mark Wraith finishing in third on 1:51.
Prizes were also awarded to Mike Neillans on his CBR6F for being the fastest novice and Kelly Tester on her YBR125 for the most improved time by shaving off 25 seconds from her first attack. Artistic merit went to our usual suspect for ad-libbing the course but to quote his own words “I was enjoying myself!”. Oh well, there’s always next time…
Martin Fitz-Gibbons of Bike Magazine also competed, this time on a Ducati Hypermotard rather than the infamous Yamasaki. Look out for an article in Bike coming soon.
