Experience Day – Ricoh Arena Coventry
The Ricoh Arena at Coventry hosted the latest Experience Day for Moto Gymkhana on Sunday, 16th June. Ok, it wasn’t quite the Arena but one of it’s large car parks which provided a huge amount of space to set out the warm-up, GP8 and competition course.
We had 3 groups through the day and the AJP’s again proved popular, being fully booked out. There was also a good show of members to coach and support as well as get a little practice in before the next competition.
It was great to see those who tried out the mini Moto Gymkhana experience at the Doncaster BikeSafe event and persuaded some friends to give it a go too. Course times were good with most shaving seconds off Attack 2 and realising how addictive this sport becomes.
Highlight (or opportunity) of the day has to be awarded to the ice-cream van who spotted a captive audience in the car park and drove in. It has to be a first for us, although I doubt he was expecting to be asked if could fill one of our cones (pylon) – yes, it could only be our Justin!
