Moto Gymkhana saw 58 people try-out the mini course on our AJP’s at the BikeSafe event held at Doncaster Racecourse on 8th & 9th June. Everyone enjoyed it despite us hearing the usual “I’ll never get it right”. Most did, a few didn’t but all saw how easy it is to knock seconds off the more you practice.
A lot of our members helped out over both days by giving demo’s of the course as well as some showing off to the audience. Honda very kindly let us borrow their new MSX125 and this proved extremely popular among our members with real competition over who could get the best time. We were also given two Piaggio Zip Scooters to try out and yes, that is our current Champion with somewhat less horsepower than he’s used to!
We also managed to persuade a few members of the Police to show off their bike handling skills and attack the course. They definately have skills to show off. They duly obliged on their RT’s putting in some impressive times even though they had to suffer much heckling from their assembled colleagues watching from the sidelines. In fact, they came back for another go on Day 2 which just goes to prove how addictive this sport really is.
